EXPLORER Camp - Summer 2024

AYP is open from 10 am - 4:00 pm. Dial-a-Ride departs from AYP for the field trips at 10:30 am sharp. See the description for return times. | Explore the outdoors! EXPLORER camp takes you to four of our local hiking trails for exploration and discovery.

Lunch is provided each day at the Armory and on the field trips. Every participant will receive a bag, water bottle, and t-shirt for attending camp. We will do our best to accommodate preferred T-shirt sizes but it is not guaranteed.

This camp has 4 field trips away from the Armory Youth Project, exploring our area, with differing return times each day. Please see the "Preparation and logistics" section for departure and arrival times.

Monday: Spirit of the Woods Conservation Club
Tuesday: Pierpoint Beach
Wednesday: Portage Point Woods Reserve
Thursday: Magoon Creek.

Round-trip transportation will be provided from AYP to the field trip, so the waiver listed below needs to be signed by a parent/guardian for the student to participate.

PREPARATION and LOGISTICS

 
This camp has 4 field trips away from the Armory Youth Project, exploring our area, with differing return times each day. The Armory is open from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm each weekday.

Monday:  Spirit of the Woods Conservation Club - Departure 10:30 / Return 12:30
Tuesday:  Pierpoint Beach - Departure 10:30 / Return 1:00
Wednesday: Portage Point Woods Reserve - Departure 10:30 / Return 12:30
Thursday:  Magoon Creek - Departure 10:30 / Return 2:00

I give my permission for my youth to participate in the Field Trips included in this camp. I understand that although the youth will be supervised by staff and volunteers, I do assume the risk of my youth’s participation in the event.




I certify that my youth is physically and emotionally able to participate in the activities planned for the trip. I understand that I am responsible for informing staff members of any medical conditions, allergies, or other special needs that my child may have. I authorize staff members to seek medical attention for my child if necessary and agree to assume responsibility for any medical expenses incurred.



I acknowledge that I will not seek to have the Armory Youth Project held liable if any accident, injury, loss of property, or other circumstance or incident occurs during or because of my youth’s participation in the field trips. This release of liability includes accident, injury, loss, or damages to the youth, as well as to other individuals or property which may result from the youth’s participation in the event. I hereby release and agree to hold harmless the Armory Youth Project, its officials, agents, and employees from any claims arising out of my youth’s participation in the event.
